| Milford, CT – April 11, 2007 - At the award ceremony held during the Plant Engineering Manufacturing Summit on April 2, 2007 in Chicago, New Standard Institute, a Connecticut developer of web-based maintenance management software was named recipient of a Plant Engineering’s Product of the Year award.
New Standard Institute’s Web Based Training is a learning management system, provided online, with access to all of New Standard Institute’s award-winning training programs. This system allows companies to train large groups of people in a small amount of time, anywhere in the world. The system administrator at the client company can customize the system in order to provide specific courses to specific people, thereby eliminating the cost of wasted seats. Based on servicing concurrent users, or users that are online at the same time, as many as 100 people can simultaneously be trained.
Michael V. Brown, President of New Standard Institute, Senior Software Engineer Michael Konopka, Project Leader for the development of the product, and University of Connecticut Junior Joe Mirmina, who collaborated in the software design of the product, were in attendance at the reception to accept the award. New Standard will also be featured in a special awards section in the April issue of Plant Engineering Magazine.
