| Milford, CT – June 8, 2006 - High School Senior Jeffrey Pinheiro was the recipient of a scholarship from New Standard Institute for his continuing education beyond graduation from Platt Tech this month.
Pinheiro, a resident of Fairfield, was presented with the scholarship funds at the Milford Chamber of Commerce sponsored State of the City Luncheon on May 25th. Pinhiero will be attending Norwalk Community College in September to study Architectural Engineering Technology.
What most impressed the scholarship review panel at the Chamber of Commerce is that Pinhiero is already employed by an Architectural firm working on CAD (Computer Aided Design) drafting. "He has exactly the skills we need in Connecticut," noted Raymond A. Macaluso, Chairman of the Milford Chamber of Commerce. Macaluso is President of Westcott and Mapes and himself an Architect and Engineer.

"It is vital that we encourage young people to go into manufacturing and technology," said Michael V. Brown, President of New Standard. "Jeffrey is precisely the type of person we need entering the workforce. His degree from Norwalk Community College will put him into a position to contribute greatly to the growth and long term vialbility of Connecticut."
